I've been an amateur radio operator for years (14) and the old pharts in that hobby sound just like the ones in this hobby!
Instead of saying you HAVE TO KNOW MORSE CODE to be a real ham radio operator, some think you HAVE TO GRIND FREEHAND to be a real knife maker...
Nothing more to really say, but I have found the griping and complaining to be a bit comical...
For the record, the few blades I have made by hand have been done both ways... Jig AND freehand... Both worked well for me.
I may get BANNED for this comment, but I thought folks should know that the "code/no code", or "free hand/use a jig" debate is within every hobby...
