Fur, Fish and Game magazine..

if someone would be willing to pick me up a copy or 2.. i would be much abliged...:o if not, i'll try and order some soon...:)

Years ago, I corresponded with the editor. He mentioned his articles were pretty much how-to oriented. After some discussion, he printed an article of mine on making a scout rifle.

At the time, it was VERY much for the man afield, not the occasional sportsman. I would think it has had to broaden its viewpoint to stay in print.

Worth the subscription, in my opinion.

In addition to what others have said, one reason I enjoy FFG is the cover art. It is still art, not photos. The only other outdoor pub I've seen that still uses artwork for its cover is PA Game News.

BTW, Here FFG is at our local library. BWAHAHAHA

I have subscribed for a long time they have a book store on their web site that offers a well rounded outdoor selection. The articles offer a diverse outdoor selection of topics.
Trapping specific higher end game can pay for some really nice bushcraft goodies not to mention hone some skills.

i just signed up for my second year of subscription. the articles are usually much more practical than some of the other hunting magazines that are just about ads and the latest greatest new type of camoflaged scent free outdoor underware, gizmo, etc. The only other magazine that I enjoy more is the BackWoodsman.

+1 on Backwoodsman!

I think a lot of why we can't find such a mag in parts of Calif., or other states like Washington, is the anti hunting/trapping mindset of the people. When in Idaho, many outlets carried F.F.&G. and other similar magazines and the local gas station sold survival knives and firearms. My kind of state.
