4 years after being canceled by Fox, Futurama was revived in 4 direct-to-DVD movies (later aired on Comedy Central), along with the hope that sales would be good enough to clue in the idiot Fox execs that there's still money in the show, and bring it back as a series.

It worked! Fox has signed Futurama back with 26 new episodes starting in 2010!

They're back, baby!

I have all four of the movies, and now I'm REALLY stoked to find out it's coming back to T.V.

Really? I really hope that is the case. That fourth movie was kind of bittersweet. Last I heard of the situation, Comedy Central was going to pick up Futurama.
 
Hm, I'm finding conflicting reports. Some say Fox, some say Comedy Central (most say CS). Either way, IT'S BACK BABY!

I do hope it's Comedy Central. They air reruns now, so they've got the audience base. Fox would probably just screw it up again.

It had to be, and they had to have at least some closure, in case it really was the end.

I never knew that there was Family Guy that didn't suck. It is marginally funnier than American Dad, but not by much.

For a lot of years, the Simpsons and Futurama were the only things worth watching on Fox. These days, the only time I turn it to Fox is for Simpsons on Sunday and House on Monday.

I don't care where it's on, I can't wait for new Futurama.

I feel a lot less geek-ish for having a plastic Bender "action figure/doll/figurine" and his Suicide Booth, bottle of Old Fortran, and stack of cash on top of the refrigerator in my basement bar. :p

Thats quality, Futurama was defo one of the better animated shows :thumbup:

I'll have to crack out the box set tonight and refresh the old memory :D

BITE MY SHINY METAL ASS! Love Bender.....HE'S BACK BABY!

I have all the episodes and I thought they were starting to get to some real good ones in the final season that were more than just funny. IE: The Bee episode where Lela is stung. Stuff that the Simpsons used to do. I hope they bring back the same character voices and everything and keep with the great humor they had and dont cheapen it down like some other shows have experienced.
 
I'm glad to hear it is coming back. Great show. Hope the original voices are being used as well.
