One of the first things I learned on BF in WSS was how to make fuzz sticks (or feather sticks), and since then I've been addicted. Today I was poking around outside and figured out a new way to make some amazing fuzz sticks.
I tried my best at taking a video of the process, I think this would be a great way for someone to get started learning the process, as it's easy to learn the proper angle and amount of force needed.
I let the stick do the work, holding my knife and the stick at an angle like this: / \ Then I just push the stick, with it resting on my leg. I can easily control the angle of the blade. I ended up liking my index finger stretched out on the spine of the blade. This stopped my from forcing the blade on the wood so much.
I do have a fare amount of downward force on my leg with my knuckles, trying to keep the knife from moving much. I did for over an hour today! Let me know if this doesn't make sense. I'm sure this has been done before, but I thought I'd post up some stuff because I was excited to figure it out as it is MUCH easier.
A few pictures of the end result first!
Here is a link to some videos, they are mostly the same thing, just from some slightly different angles, they are all under, or right at a minute.
My son is awesome! He's cute in this one:

A quick video ( < 1 minute) of me lighting the fuzz! Krein Bushcraft doing the striking.
