Does anyone know if chemicals and lubricants, such as Breakfree or the mineral spirits of TufCloth will "stain" linen micarta or G-10?

Mineral spirits evaporate and leave nothing behind so they're okay (that's both theorectically and practically correct) but some oils can. I've got a pre-production Spyderco Starmate and there's an oil stain from the pivot on (like that from factory) so G-10 can stain. I think polished micarta is sealed so I wouldn't worry about that. The micarta on my RTAK seems to absorb water a little, but I've never had an problems with stains. Hope this helps.

I've never had oil based products stain either micarta or G-10.

In fact, G-10 will dry out and turn gray. Clipped to Levis or denim jeans seem to dry it out faster than anything.

The fix is to spray on any light oil (or CLP) to restore it. Or, use a leather dye.
