so I had two enduras show up today: one of of the white FRN variety, and one with the foliage green G-10. I love both of them, but I have a question. these aren't my first spydies, but they are my first enduras. the G-10 one is a royal PITA to open and close. it's not smooth at all. the white FRN one is more on par with all the other spyder's I've owned or handled, very smooth action, easy to open and close. is this normal with the thicker liners on the G-10 knife, or do I have a lemon?
thanks.

I haven't picked up one of the G-10 Enduras yet, but I have read a couple of posts about them being harder to open and close than FRN models. The pivot may have been tightened down to prevent inertial opening, it may have a bit of grit in it, the washers may be too thick for that particular blade, the list goes on. If it was me, I'd try washing it in warm soapy water, drying thoroughly and oiling it lightly. If that didn't free it up, I'd try loosening the pivot screw a bit. If that didn't do it, I'd ship it back to Spyderco and let them look at it.

I have owned only one Spyderco knife and it is the first that I really had a chance to tinker with for any length of time. Mine is an Endura 4 with the G-10 blade. Mine is very smooth opening in my opinion and on-par with most of the other quality folders I have owned/handled in the past. But, as I said... This is my 1st Spyderco. So, maybe I don't realize how nice the other Spydies are.

I got the G10 Endura today and Mine is very smooth and lock up is great! Overall a very nice knife, I would follow the suggestions that Yab told you, I think most likely the screw is too tight where the blade pivits.
I really like this knife and will put it in my rotation of knives to carry when not at work.
Hope you fix your problem with your knife.

I had the same problem. I adjusted the pivot but i still didn't like the acton, so i sold it.

mine came very tight, i adjusted the pivot than loctite it, it was still tight, then after 2 weeks of opening and closing, it is by far the smoothest opening spydie I've owned, along with the D4G10, the washers once broken in, really help to smooth out the action to Benchmade like IMHO
