Sal or any other knowing foruminite,

Have all the G-10 handled Harpy's always been made with ATS-55 or did they also come in GIN-1? Also why the use of two different steels?

Just a humble left-hand reverse-grip G-10 Harpyist here. The 55 wasn't perhaps even born (commercially) when I got my Harpy. ATS-55 = new, GIN-1 = old.

I'm pretty sure all G-10 Harpies are ATS-55. Everyone I've seen has this steel and I've seen three variations.

O.K.,

Two different answers, which is correct?

SAL, PLEASE HELP........

FWIW, the KnifeCenter has a picture and details of the first G10 Harpy and gives the steel as GIN-1. I believe it is the first model as it is tip-up and I think the later ones are tip-down.

Take care,

Don't worry that the world might end tomorrow....in Australia it's tomorrow already.

ANSWER: The G-10 Harpy comes in ATS-55 steel and is a sweet knife. Solid as a rock, so get it and enjoy it.

I have both blade steels in G-10. Got the first G-10 in GIN-1 steel, and later version with ATS-55.
I believe the blades in GIN-1 were used until supply was gone, then the switch to ATS-55 began in this model.

Markku is correct.
Brian
