G-10 Question

Gang--- I just received my non-waved 2010 CQC-7B, Stonewashed. This G-10 is nothing like my other Emersons. It looks thicker and has a grippy wider weave. Did Emerson switch to another brand G-10? Thanks.
 
I know what you're talking about. The G10 on my 2010 HD-7 is much grippier than any any of my older EKI's.
 
Can you post a picture?

The Super 8 I recently bought is marked 2009, so if a change in texturing was made, then it was very recent. What's the year on your 7?

Greaves, is the weave wider than your other Emersons?

It's something Ernie has started using for just a little under a year now. It stays grippy but not as much as it is new. In about a week you won't even notice it.

I can't get used to it no matter how many times I pick up my Super 8. It's my favourite knife to be sure, but the texturing drives me nuts. I'm just picky that way.
 
BE--- I can recommend a modder. He's finishing a CQC-7 for me now. I had him bead-blast the G-10 handle scales. :cool: LMK.
 
i have a new stonewashed a-100 and was wondering the same thing. The g10 felt different. however personally i think i like it better.
 
FWIW--- I just found out that this is the same G-10 Strider uses. Dat's cool.
