g-10 sanding lines

I don't have an issue with getting the scratches out of g-10, but at 600 grit with a j weight belt using the slack area, I still get parallel lines where the belt touches. I can hand sand them out, as the curved paper blends the individual lines together. I think a scotchbright belt on the grinder may do the same thing as it has more "give" and may blend those lines better. Any one have any input on that? The hand sanding doesn't take very long, but it would be nice not to have to switch off the grinder if i can just put one more belt on at the end. Thanks.

are the lines from the edges of the belt ? if so, they sell belts with scalloped edges. or you could try to remove/dull the grit 1/4" from each edge of the belt.

I have a few belts with scalloped edges and i may try that. the thing is, i was working the sections in question with the handle perpendicular to the belt, in the slack belt area. I just hand sanded the ones i am currently working on and I think they came out well. Just would like to understand whats going on, for the future.

It's the two on the left, the others are micarta, and I have not had this issue with micarta. This pic is after I hand sanded, so I don't have a pic of the issue.
