G bone knife what was I thinking

that's the best looking giraffe bone i've seen and i think it matches the rest of the knife well. i don't think you'll have any trouble selling it. roland

she's a little out of reach for me, but I wouldn't pass up a Lisch knife just because of the material chosen for the handle. He has pretty good judgement when it comes to putting knives together. In the long run, that's what matters.

David -- this is one of the nicest knives I have seen from you. My only concern is with the images. They both are so different it is difficult to determine just what the shape of the knife really is. One image is a bit short and stubby whereas the other is longer. With selling knives on the internet, it is very important to get good images that show the knife like it is. Also the color of the handle is totally different in each image.

just as personal choice, I prefer shorter choils but again, it is difficult to ascertain the exact look to the knife due to the images being so different and perhaps neither image looks like the knife when in hand.

Yep, the Barchetta in that pic is one of my most favorite.
Enzo and his band of merry lunatics got the look of his cars spot on straight out of the gate. I looked up Barchettas on Google and that one looks VERY much like the street legal one that Enzo gave to Henry Ford II as a gift and whihc is now owned by the Peterson Auto Museum right down to the ganster whitewalls. One of only 25 Barchettas ever built and one of the few that was not a race car. Also the last non-racing Ferrari bodied by Touring acoording to the article I read........about as rare as you can get.

Dave,
All the time, planning and hard work you put into your awesome steel deserves better handle material than that.

It's like putting white wall tires on a Ferrari.

I'd change it.

this from the guy who looks like a knifemaker but is too cheap to pay for a knifemakers membership! where are yours poser?

knifenutWA, watch the personal attacks.

THANK YOU.

What was you thinking? You simply matched a handle material that you felt that would fit the blade style the best, nothing is wrong with that. Its an artist's perception, matching the concepts into one design.

I also feel as if nothing is wrong with G bone as a material, as from wht I noticed, it is quiet durable.

Why doesn't it sell good? Mainly from misunderstanding and from what people says about it. In other words, it being a bad material is nothing more then a sterotype.

Trying to figure out what is wrong with GB...

I like the knife, if it was in my collection it would definitely be one I bragged about. GB is an old school handle material, damascus is an old school blade material...a perfect match.

Very nice knife, I think the GB looks great with that blade and guard material.

Probably ever since people discovered how strong a giraffe's bones are and after people found out how to kill them. (or scavage)

So, I'm guessing 347+ years, maybe longer. I also don't think pattern wielded steel has been around that long...Damascuss, yes, but pattern-wielded..no. (Their is a difference between them and true damascus is only found in museums now.)
