I purchased this axe a couple of years ago direct from the maker. It has never been carried or used. There are a few very small spots of discoloration on the axe head.
Following is the maker’s description of the axe in his sales post:
“Mostly stock removal from 1/4 inch thick 52100 high carbon steel
I heat treated this to Rc 58-60 the same as all of my knives which will make for good edge retention. It cannot be sharpened with a file like most axes but with a stone like any knife.”
Convex grind with a near mirror finish with a secondary grind
The flats are blackened mill finish
Black canvas Micarta handle
Head length: 5 inches
Cutting edge: 3 1/2 inches
Length from the top of the head to the butt: 11 1/4 inches
Handle: 5 1/2 inches
