G-Shock Watches

How to find a new model? I'd suggest you go to a brick and mortar store to try some on.
You can save a lot of time & money that way, by figuring what size and style works for
you. I have owned Citizens to Rolex, like another poster, then vintage autos, now just G Shocks.
I've had Solar, and Solar Atomic G's, but my current fave is this one:
Big, really comfortable, and all the basic functions.

I have a Pathfinder PAW1400T-7V that I bought 4 1/2 years ago as well as an older Waveceptor analog chronograph that was only sold in the asian market. Because they synchronize daily with an atomic clock radio signal, they keep amazingly accurate time, which is the most important function of a watch and they look good too. They have a lot of other functions too, most of which I don't remember how to make work, but always having the right time is reason enough to recommend them. Casio has come a long way from the cheap, nearly disposable watches of my youth; both of mine are solar.

The one I have is the center one in Caine's first pic. I really like it. So far I haven't found something I want to upgrade to. I saw a badass pathfinder at a mall when we were in fla. though. I kinda want to stick to the rubber band rather than Ti.

The Ti band is why I chose the PAW-2000T, It's the top of the Pathfinder line, There is one model above it, The 5000, But it only comes with the PVC Band.

It's here if you want it, I would definitely buy the same model eventually if I trade mine.

I think I want to stick with a rubber band, and I also want hands on the watch. I do think the pathfinder is what I'm going to go with eventually tho.

I've been checking them out at brick and mortar places when I can. I haven't found anyone behind a counter that has a clue about the watches though. Even if I ask which ones cost the most, they just blink at me. I kinda think thats funny.

I just ordered this one purely because of this thread!

Right on D. I like that one.

I've got girlie wrists, but I want these Gshock and Suunto watches! There's a tan/brown version that calls my name at night. Might as well strap a desktop on my arm for scale. I'm tempted to shop the girl's sizes....not sure I'm cool enough to pull off a big ol' watch.

I wore a g- shock for a few years and loved it, but I recently picked up a Casio PRW2500-1 and boy was I missing out! The compass has never failed when compared to a suunto mc2. The pro-trek is said to be the replacement name for the pathfinder series. So far I am very happy with the upgrade, and I have yet to find a flaw. Give them a look, it seems to have everything you are looking for...

I've been eyeing up a Suunto Core for quite some time and planned on getting it within the next couple weeks. After seeing this thread though, I'm back to square one. Thanks for all the pics of beautiful watches!

The sensors can clog up with dust from grinding. My first Casio with a depth meter did not like brake dust and brake fluid filling the sensor. I'm not sure the newer ones are better, but I don't use mine when working with fine dust or chemicals. The old G-shock and Mudman don't seem bothered at all with dirt, ash, dust or different fluids.

Good to know. I may make the one I'm wearing the 'shop' watch and have one for less dirty times then.

Anyone else know of the sensor clogging issue?

Anyone want to trade for that watch I linked to above.
