Everyone tells me that the cryo makes them a tougher blade, with less retained austenite. What I saw in use was that I could tell you blind which was the cryo treated blade and which not when cutting things like hemp rope or nylon rope. It made a difference in edge holding that stood out to me and sold me on doing all of them that way. Rockwell is supposed to be between 58-60 on it. A while back I had one tested to check to be sure and it came back 59 Rc so I think they are right where they are supposed to be. The blades I have here were all heat treated together so I believe its going to test out the same on yours. Trust me they perform quite well. If they didn't work I wouldn't use them. I've sliced with yours in hard and soft wood and did some hemp cutting as well as a bit of carpet and it checked out as being up to snuff. I then retouched up the edge and shipped it out.
