G10 Cara Cara or KA BAR DOZIER FOLDING POCKET KNIFE DROP PT

I have several of the Ka-Bars, and a Cara Cara.

Both are great, but the liners in the Cara Cara would make me lean more towards it.

I love my Cara Cara. Plus I'd take it over the Dozier because of the G-10 being better handle material considering the steel is so close and the locks are the same style.

FYI, Tenacious liner lock is rock solid, every bit as a good lockback without potential lock failure due to pocket debris, as has happened with my Byrd Meadowlark. This well-designed liner lock can hold its own nicely.

Tenacious...Military..et al, I'm sure both are great knives.
Linerlocks are just not for me anymore, when there's so many alternative choices.

These are truly good knife times we're living in.

Pix as promised...

Oh I know all right.;)I grew up in the 80's the age of excess, cocaine, big hair, slutty girls(God bless them the most :D) & partying til' the sun came up.....I could go on & on if this were W&C;)

This instance is purely stress related though & my body clock is way off.As far as drugs & alcohol go,I do neither anymore.

Take care SS,:)

Yup, you said it all :D

BTW, that BM630 is getting Richard's care right now. I'll post a before and after thread.

I figured I'd follow up on this one.

I have the KA BAR Dozier as well as the BYRD Cara-Cara now.

I like them both pretty much the same. The factory edge was perfect on both, didn't need any touch ups at all.
I kinda like the way the KBAR fits my hand a little better than the BYRD.On the other hand I found the Dozier is almost impossible to close one handed, due to the placement of the lock. That's not really a problem for me.I just thought I should mention it.Opening the Dozier was no problem.
Both feel very solid in the hand & despite the Dozier's lack of liners, the lock-up was solid. It is noticeably lighter too,but without feeling weaker.
Both have grippy handles, with the KA BAR slightly grippier.

All in all, both are great buys for the cost.I'd recommend both if you're on a low budget & are looking for a full size folder for under $30.00

Here's some pics of the KA BAR Dozier.....

[edited to add] The spine shot in pic#4 where the blade meets the lock. The lock looks black from shadow + my lousy photography skills. It's all the same color.

I have a G-10 Cara Cara and it is a Very well built folding knife! The Dozier looks like a Solid knife as well. But this Byrd with G-10 would be tough to beat IMHO!!!!
