G10 colors

I've been making knives for a few months now and have, I believe, visited most of the well known suppliers of knife making materials online. It's hard to complain about a lack of options when choosing materials, there are plenty, but I've noticed that G10 in particular seems to be fairly limited in color options. So I'm wondering why I can't seem to find a true red G10 or a wider variety of colors in general? Is there only one source for G10? If so, do they hate red? Have I overlooked some supplier of the stuff that offers a better selection? Thanks for your help.

I have, thanks. Like most other places, their red is more like a wine red, their yellow looks like a banana, and their greens lean more towards muddy sort of earth tone greens. I'm looking for more "primary" colors.

ChrisoDart, I haven't heard of that one yet. I'll go have a look. Thanks.

You're welcome! Their website is a little off putting as it's very old school. I'd give them a call if you have any questions and request to speak to the son that works at the shop. I've gotten to go hand pick some things when driving to Orlando and they have an enormous selection of micarta and G10. I know I've seen sheets of brighter plain primary colors you're looking for. Prices are very reasonable too. Shipping is quick. I think they're often overlooked as a good supplier. Good luck!

We bought our Red g10 from Alpha knife supply. I think its called ruby red..In fact Chuck has the best prices on G10 around, Ive checked a lot of places. Absolutely the best place to by liner material for sure!

JBC69 thanks, I actually use them for a lot of stuff already.

Kentucky, I have lots of the ruby red stuff. That's actually what I'm trying to find a brighter substitute for. I'll definitely check out their liner selection though, thanks for the tip.

Most places charge $3 a set for thin .030 liners. You can by a sheet that will make several sets for the same price and thicker if you want.

I was looking for red and black layered micarta and the only place I could find the bright red was Sheffield supply.
I didn't check if they had just red, but they may.
When I was looking, I ordered red and black layered from 3 places and Sheffield's was the brightest. I also bought bright red vulcanized spacer material from them.

hey greenjebadiah, i tried red/black before, it came out more like dark gray/ light red pinkish. did any of your 3 samples turn out that way ? mine was from jantz.

One came out like burgundy, almost dark purple and looked more mixed than layered. Its actually on the knife in my profile pic.
One was bright (bright enough for what I wanted) and layered. That was from sheffield.
The third was kind of like a dark wine.
My pics aren't very good and looked brighter aftrr some cleaning and wd40
