g10 colors

Hey the wash thing doesn't work:grumpy:

The slabs on my FBM didn't turn more blue after I washed them... they are still black G-10 just like before I washed them. Whats up with that?

Try alcohol.... if that doesn't work you got a dark one... :D

Does anyone have any pics of their color changing experiments???

here is mine after a couple washes in the sink with dawn and a scrub brush... not much lighter - but you can see i got a little more color out of the handle... gonna try again and see if i can get it any lighter.

Did anybody managed to get the color as light as Skunk's?

I had try alcohol, dish washing soap, hot water, steel wool, Zippo fluid and even 300 grit sand paper but still not as nice :(

Mine looked like Xgoldy.

You can't get that light Blue that Skunk shows, no matter what you might do. I don't know why they just don't make them in the lighter colors, every one seems to want them, and Skunk shows them that way because they look much nicer than the deep blue/black. Vivid Blue, Green, Red, Etc. would be great. I used Alcohol as described, on the top knife. The scales did lighten up a bit, probably 10 - 15% lighter. They do photograph lighter than they actually are, both knives are darker in person. I have to try the Ren Wax.
