I am itching to get a G10 endura.. then again I am itching to get a D2 millitary. If you had neither, which would you order first? They strike me as cousins...

Faced with the same dilema a week or two ago, I ordered the Millitary. I figured that it would be harder to come by in the future, and I've already got abuch of Endura's- with a white one in the future. Of course, if your not a fan of RH tip down, CPM D2, liner locks, or 4" blades, then the Endura would be the choice.

That being said, I'd love to see a head to head review ;)

I don't think the price difference is much between those two models, is it??? I'd grab the Millie in D2 while you still can. They aren't making any more of them that I am aware of.

The D2 Military was an unexpected sprint run made with an experimental steel. The G-10 Endura is current (limited) production. Once the D2 Millies are gone, they're gone, and there won't be any more. Once the current G-10 Enduras are gone, you'll have to wait for the next batch, which could be a month away.

I'd say get the Military now, while you still can. The Endura will still be available later.

Thanks all for the input! D2 Millitary on the way via 3 day UPS. I am excited to compare it to my other spydies, like my Manix. Its also my first liner lock spydie...

Now I am in check the UPS tracking site hell.... I wish I could see a real time map of the truck :) Every single time I pick cheap shipping to save money, I am then tortured for days... Pointless addition to my post, just needed to vent :)

I have both also, Millie in December, Endura in January...Go for the Military, that D2 is some hard working steel.

The FFG VG10 is ok but in a head to head comparison (two days worth of curtting bailing twine) the D2 Military came out ahead.

Reasons to buy:

Endura:
-Back lock, considered by some to be a generally more secure lock design
-Stronger tip
-Some like the qualities of VG-10 over others as an overall better steel (ease of sharpening, edge retention, corrosion resistance, toughness, etc)
-I like the clip better
-Stronger detent
-Ambidextrous lock
-Name starts with an "E"

Military:
-Bigger blade (if you prefer that)
-Some like the convenience of the liner lock over the back lock
-Better ergos (IMO)
-Limited, get one while you can and brag about it to others once they're gone.
-CPM D2, one of the rarer steels use by Spyderco. Better edge retention.
-Name has an actual meaning (what the hell is an "Endura" anyway?:D)

If I were in your shoes, I would be in lots of pain and would hate to have to choose (feel the pain) between such great knives.

The Endura will ride tip-up like God intended. The Military will not.

If that matters to you.

I like both tip up and tip down, but I don't really trust tip up on liner, frame or compression locks because the detent is so weak (relatively).
