I've been using G10 as liner to thicken scales or enhance the look. But I'm having trouble getting the liner colors to pop out. It seems that in sanding the handles I somehow dull the colors. Reds, black too. Any tips on how to retain the color in a finished knife?

The G10 does not pop like some other liner materials.

Sand to a high grit and then buff the G10 spacer.

Red G10 is translucent and can be dark or light depending on what material is next to it.

Red in particular doesn't "pop" for me. Orange, white, black, yellow all have been very nice. I haven't used my blue yet but just looking at it, it seems to have the same opaque quality of the other four that makes me think it will stand out.

Try slabbing a thin white (or else light color) fiber liner on one or either sides of the wafer, it should brighten the translucent g10

Yeah, the translucent ones don't pop for me, but the opaque ones really do. I sand to 600 or 1000. Sometimes the subtle effect of the darker colors is desireable. Sandwiching a 'dull' color between black also makes it stand out more by contrast.
