I picked up some thin G10 to see if I could cut this stuff on my vinyl cutter. Not happening, the cost of replacing the quickly dulled blades is way more than the value of this project. So...I cut these by hand with an Xacto knife and shaped them with my Kerhsaw Leek. Sandpaper would work for shaping, too, but that's what I had on me.
Anyway, I started with some .030" Neon (zombie) green G10. I "traced" them with the Xacto and then kept following that path until is was scored enough to break out cleanly, like a jigsaw puzzle piece. I taped them to the grips and drilled the holes out with a 3/16" bit and then bolted them to the grips for shaping. One set done, the second is in process. Once they're finished, I think I'll stick them on my FPR BK16 that's headed for a stipping party tonight.
You can kind of see the thickness here:
All shaped up and sitting flush with the scales.
