If you could handle the Esee4 before purchasing I would recommend it due to it's smallish handle.

For what it's worth, the ESSE 4's handle didn't work for me, and I have medium-sized hands.

To clarify, I have medium sized hands and what I found uncomfortable about the Esee4's handle is the thickness. Length wasn't a problem for me, as I never expected to chop with the 4.
The flat, slightly thin scales makes for some hot spots during hard/extended use but it's otherwise pretty great.

Keep the factory scales as backup, w/e you go with, and buy/make some aftermarkets.
