going to work some G10, do I need more then a regular particulate mask? Any other tips for using this stuff and not getting damaged?

Hey Sam you definitely need a Mask, I would go with the P100 Filter... Nasty stuff, Wet sand it too.

Cover as much skin as possible. Micarta gave me rash and G-10 is fiberglass which I would believe is worse.

P100 filters + dust collection.

The dust does not bother my skin, but some people get rashes, etc.

" G10 " seems to have become a generic name for a number of different materials. In any case they are made of fiber [glass , carbon, etc ] and resin . Fibers need to be kept out of the lungs so a particle filter must be used . Vapor of the resin need more than a simple filter . Some outgas formaldehyde IIRC !

I'd suggest also setting up a box fan nearby with a very fine furnace filters on it and leaving it running long after you are done sanding. This is in addition to any other dust collection and respirator precautions. A while back someone suggested putting their grinder in a big box (sandblasting cabinet) and hooking up a dust collector to the top. If you are working a bunch of G-10 and/or stabilized wood, I'd think about building something like that. I'm going to try it soon.
