G10 scales for Izula?

I realize we've already been lucky enough to be offered the option of Micarta scales for the Izula, but is their any chance of G10 scales coming?

Either in the same Orange used on the current knives, or a Pink?
 
Most knifemakers would make you a pair for a fee. G10 scales would be pretty cool but I like the looks of a nice cord wrap better.
 
I would also be one to suggest making a set yourself. There is at least one supplier of G10 in many colors I know of on the net. (If it doesn't violate the rules, I can post a link.) I am considering buying a few pieces to have on hand for rainy days.
 
Yeah, you could easily make some yourself but as people have said above wear a respirator and make sure you clean up the dust from it.
 
Do you guys know the best place to buy G10 for projects like this?
I went onto knifekits, but it seems expensive. Then again, I don't
really understand the pricing of G10 and materials of that nature.
 
Frustratingly, someone offered to send me some Orange G10 they had spare so I could do this (some slim 3mm). Unfortunately the package arrived torn open with the G10 missing.

Some nice low-profile orange scales would go down a treat!

That has taken the wind out of my sails a little to make my own.

It's interesting all the comments of wearing respirators though. The factory I used to work in had sheet g10 on automated routing machines constantly with no respiration protection. Not that I was working on them, but walking through fairly often.

Something I should look into possibly :/
 
Never say never:) We like suggestions and maybe at some pouint we might do this. Let us get the micarta filled up in the pipeline first though:) Mike
 
well i have thought about getting the micarta scales, but to be honest i think the knife feels great naked :eek: :D
although i bet it would feel even better with the scales, and look a bit better, even though it is perfect as is :D

Full scales please. Micarta or G-10 would be fine but Carbon Fiber would take the cake. :D
 
leave it to mr. perrin to torture us with these vague statements. remember when jeff said he wished they made a knife with the becker blade and the izula handle?

Thanks Ben, was thinking bout replacing the black handles on my
skyline with blue. Wanted to do other colors for all my knives that
have G10.

How would you get this to work for the Izula? Cut to shape and drill holes
for screws? Any ideas guys?

Any tutorials on G10 work would be great. Thanks.
