G10 Scales Modification

I have a folder that I am making some mods to. I was wondering if there is a way to chemically lighten G10 or possible another besides using chems? I am looking to make it look weathered. The knife has been used alot both inside and outside buy the scales look almost new after a little clean up. Thanks for any suggestions.

I'm not aware of anything that would change the color of G10 chemically. Some coarse sandpaper would probably do the trick, but be sure to wear a GOOD respirator.

If you blast it or sand on it, G10 tends to go dull. The only way to get the shine back is to oil it or buff it. I don't know how much you'll want to experiment on your scales though.
