Wheres the cheapest place to get G10 scales? I went to Jantz and bought a slab of 3/16" Black, but I quickly found out I dont have the right equipment to cut it :(.
So I have a 5x10" slab of Black G10 and a 6x12" slab of black paper Micarta that I wont be able to do anything with. I would love to get a decent table top bandsaw in the future but, just cant right now. Any tips would be great....

Also, where do you suggest I can sell these slabs? I dont think they would sell to well on Ebay.....

An abrasive wheel in a skill saw, or a metal blade in a jig saw should cut that stuff, or a couple hacksaw blades and some elbow grease

you can also drill holes in an outline of the shape you want then hacksaw from one hole to the next.

No skill saw or jig saw..... may have to hit up the hack saw.

Good idea. A little more work than I was hoping but, making use of these slabs at this point will be great.

I cut my g10 and micarta with a hacksaw. Normally I make a guide line with a cutoff wheel with a dremel. Works great but isnt fun.

How do you figure to work any size if you can't even cut it out? Sell it and maybe get some wood.

Scales I can grind the max 1/2" extra off with the grinder. But cutting out of a 5x10 sheet I would have liked to get as many out of it as possible.

And I have plenty of wood, just trying out a variety of materials

Oh and btw, I have a cheap scroll saw. I cut G10 with it before but, I tried cutting some red g10 liner today with it and it got a half inch into the sheet and snapped the blade. Now I don't know if that blade was on its last leg but, I'm still guessing G10 is a bit to heavy for my tiny scroll saw. (Harbor Freight) :o

Jig saw works pretty well with the right blade. Hit up a pawn shop and you can probably pick one up very cheap.

You know I totally forgot that my father in law gave me a really old jig saw from back when he worked at the local paper mill. Obviously I'd need some new blades but, what type of blades would I be looking for to cut G10 and Micarta?
