G10 vs Aluminum scales

Welcome to BFC koolkat!!!!!!!
Go with the G10 scales on your knife of choice. G10 is cooler in the summer and wont absorb much heat. And it's warmer in the winter months.
G10 can be reworked if it is dinged. For me, G10 is also grippier.
Once you gat your blade, be sure to post pics. It's always fun to see knife pics.

G10 would be my choice. Aluminum gets marred up bad in a short time and looks terrible while G10 can take bumps and dings and not show any wear. Also g10 is much easier to hang onto. I've many times looked at those AWT aluminum scales for a couple of my mini Griptilians, but I know I would be upset when they started looking worn and scratched so I decided to pass.

Completely agree with others, go with G10. Grippy, tough, nicer to hold in hot or cold weather, handles dings better.

It is my favorite handle material so I may be biased, but I'd go with the G10

The g10 scales are much gripper when when. I do whoever want to tell you that an aluminum metal does stay hot for longer, but it reflects sun, while a black g10 would absorb the heat. The color of a g10 is something to consider too. Good luck!

I don't have a CRKT knife with aluminum handles so I don't really know how it'll be but I have a drifter in g10 and I really like it, I'd go g10 as well

This would be really easy (I am not a fan of either) however the feel of G10, as well as the potential benefits of the traction it gives you should win hands down over aluminum.......then I think of the BM 940 and how wonderful those AL handles are....

So, a well designed and made AL handle or just go G10.

Hard to comment on this particular knife since I have never held it.

I won't own aluminum scales. They get messed up quickly, they feel slippery, and whatever...
:)

I think G10 is better in tactical situations but for everyday EDC, I prefer aluminum for one reason or another.
I think wear on a knife adds character if that makes sense.

I have two sets of Wilkins scales on mini Griptilians. One set is G10 the other set is Aluminum.

I love the feel of the Aluminum. Sleek, smooth and with a feeling of being substantial - if that makes sense.

I'm sure the Aluminum will wear with character - as mentioned above. If you feel that will bother you - go for G-10.

G10 isn't bad by any stretch. But how many knives have G10 scales? A boat load.

You know the only reasonable thing to do is get both.

One of my favorite folders comes with mostly aluminum scales, 940, I put DOAT G10 scales on all 3.
Benchmade's aluminum scales feel pretty good......these feel much better!
Here's 2 of them......one of my sons 'borrowed' the other......for about 6 months!!!

This is a great assessment. Only caveat is if there is a knife that you must have but only comes in Aluminum or titanium.
