G10 vs Cocobolo scales

If you were in the market for a light use, edc folder, would you go with cocobolo or g10 scales?

Looking at the Boker Urban Trapper in both; and, while I prefer the look of the coco, I am worried about overall durability, shrinkage of the wood, etc vs g10. Anyone have experience with both of these? What are the benefits/negatives of either, and what would you go with if you were limited to the 2 choices?

Thanks!

P.S. Posted this in the Boker subforum, but has gotten no traction (some views, but no responses), so I thought I would open it up to a larger audience.

I like the looks of wood and if it's stabilised it shouldn't be an issue.
If I'm not sure and if it's for edc I'd go with G10. Less issues with water and temperature no shrinking and cracking and so on.

I'd carried cocobolo handles for a long time; held up well. I also have several in G10, which is "probably" more durable, but sure isn't as pretty.

Cocobolo it is since this won't be a main edc knife. Thanks for all the input!

You won't regret it. Cocobolo has been used for a long time for knife handles. I have a number of 100+ year old knives with cocobolo handles. Take care of it and it will outlast you.

Most cocobolo will darken to almost black over time. It requires no stabilization because of the high natural oil content. Although G10 is tougher and more water resistant than cocobolo, unless you plan to throw it at concrete walls or run it through the dishwasher regularly, it will do just fine.

Cocobolo looks nicer and is pretty darn durable.
G10 is more durable and still looks pretty nice.

FWIW I own the cocobolo version, no regrets.
