(Updated with new photos and information.)

I'm taking orders for chopsticks made from jade-green G11 or carbon fiber. The makura (holders) are carved from various hardwoods. They are 9.125" in length; the carbon fiber sets are a little slimmer than the G11.

Example sets:

Prices per set:
G11 - $30 with makura, $25 without
CF - $45 with makura, $40 without

Please contact me if you have any questions.

I was in the same situation. I figured chopsticks would make good Christmas gifts for my friends. G11 has excellent material properties for this, I might even make a big pair for cooking.

I LOVE those!! I would like 3 pairs for Christmas. What other colors do you have?

Due to interest, I will be making another batch of these chopsticks. I have ordered a new saw blade better suited to cutting this material. I don't want to trash my nice wood-blades anymore. When the new blade arrives, I will spend a day filling the orders I've received, and I'll make extra as well.

Thank you all for the interest.

Thank you Philip!!! My order is for 3 different colors of chop sticks; 2 are going to my sisters, and 1 for the brother in law!!!

My new diamond blade is making short work of this material. :) Even my eyelashes were covered in fiberglass/epoxy dust. Thank god for respirators and dust collection getting most of it.

I roughed out a bunch today. Sunday will be spent finishing them if I don't go ice climbing. If I do get to climb, I'll finish them up Monday.

I'd be interested in a pair sans holder...offering any other materials (i.e. G10 in different colors)?

That is not a problem. Take of $5 from the price for the chopsticks without the makura (holder).

I am currently looking for other colors, but haven't found much in the required thickness. Right now, I only have carbon fiber and exotic wood available in addition to the G11.

These are beautiful. I love the jade green color - really appropriate for chopsticks!
I just sent an email with an order.

Cyborg, click on his name at the heading of his post and you'll get a menu with email on it. Email him with your order and he'll respond with payment information.

Is there any possibility these could be made with "noodle grabber" grooves placed near the tips? They are shallow grooves but they make holding onto food much easier. Is they can be incorporated, I would be very interested.

Thanks,

Tenkara
