Rewarding myself with very nice Cha Siew Noodle after working on the KMG clone for almost 5 hour at the workshop ..

my wife do not really like noodle but i just love them i am a noodle person
In Thailand is call " Ba Mee ( noodle ) Moo Deng ( Red pork ) "

I don't know what looks better. The grinder or your meal!! Great pictures and thanks for sharing. Can't wait to see the finished product.

was at the workshop till about 11pm - and when for supper at one of the local late noodle place , there are usually open only after 7 pm till 5 am in the morning usually clubber and party people go there after partying or late shift .

:)

still having trouble hunting for 10" and 12" Wheel . had anyone made the wheel with some metal .. i can;t seem to find any Caster supply for the 10" Wheel or 12"

One strong recommendation I'd make is to change the spring setup you have.
When I built my KMG clone I could never get the spring positioned right. To get enough stroke it would be too long and always wanted to "snake".
I switched to a small gas shock from McMaster.

Nice and solid, much cleaner looking, and the pressure is just right.
Best modification on the whole grinder.

i am making a adjustable Spring . i will show it once is more ready .

is very hard to get my hand on a Gas shock here in Thailand . i tested a few spring and at one point i try to put a 18kg weight on the spring i find to see if it good enough .

Gabaski,
I have followed several of your posts. You have one heck of a nice shop.

I have one question - Why don't you order from overseas ( The US or Europe) where the parts you need are available. I get all sorts of stuff from Thailand, so it seems you should be able to get stuff from here.
Perhaps, you could order all the things you need from the various suppliers and have them sent to a person you know in the US ( shipping is low here), and when the entire batch is ready, he couild ship it all to you by freight.

- that is one good idea Stacy , but Thai custom confusing for me . and i been taxed before like $80 for stuff that i paid only $20 ++ whichis even more confusing .

but i will keep that in mind and i might just do it .

at the moment i am looking at thermocouple and PID if i really can;t find it in a few week or so i might just order from OMEGA or one of the online seller .

one of the reason i looking ta local is cos some part i need support from local guys and stable supply so i am trying hard to secure supply first so in future i can re produce or order as and when i need it

Excellent work on the grinder Gabaski! It makes the one I built look just silly.

I will say though that the best looking thing so far in this post was the noodles. When I moved away from the city here good Thai food got very hard to find...

Hardwo0rk alway go with Good food :)

Very nice work, and good looking food.

You will enjoy this grinder very much when you complete it.

As a KMG owner, I would suggest 2 very small changes.

1st, the handle for compressing the tracking arm is terrible as it comes from Beaumont.
I suggest you make the arm longer, for better leverage, and easier belt changes.

2nd, I suggest putting the tooling arm locking bolt on the right hand side, rather than the left, as your left hand will be compressing the tension arm, leaving your right hand to tighten the bolt.

I make these suggestions after MANY hours of working with one of these...

I can take a picture of mine if you would like, but I didn't want to clutter your wonderful thread.

No worry , always good to see more Photo -

i am designing a Top handle and that handle is a Temp on . but i did Drill a Thread hole for the handle but the idea is a top Handle that have a pulling down ( like Horn handle ) action instead of a push down action .
:)
