Hello Everyone .
by starting a work log , i hope i can improve and keep track of what i have done .

Why Gabaski ? well is just a name that pop up in my mind . and i choose to name all the knife i made after it . is like a childhood dream come true . when i was a kids me and my brother we use to name object and thing we do with special name . and there you go . " Gabaski " happen to be one that i feel best suit for a Knife name .

just a small self intro here , my Name is Max and my Surname is Summer ( Chinese ) i am born in Singapore . i still recall how much i love metal work and craft since i was a kid , days when i take the clothe hanger that is made from aluminum and hammering it into a small knife .

i am now 34 and had been staying in Thailand for over 10 plus years now .
list of other craft hobby i got . restoring old retro cars , vespa , and old honda bike . silver craft , woodcraft ,leathercraft , i am a Gem dealer as well as jeweler . i work as a designer as well as online retailer that sell stuff online , you should try give you alot of freedom to enjoy your hobby . :)

i have taken some photo of a grinder i am building . and i will post it up . soon .

i had also found some great great stuff from the Junkyard . found a 40kg Anvil and took it to the workshop to get the surface re-polish . as well as many other great stuff .

i have not make up my mind on what steel to start with . and i will go with steel that is more forgiving for starter like me .
.list of steel i am thinking .

  • D2
  • O1
  • 52100
  • 440C

I am having problem getting a contact wheel in Thailand , so i am considering to custom made one myself . so is looking for spec and info if anyone have any that would be great . any idea how i can mount a rubber surface ?

Went to the local Workshop and found a Old 3phase . 3Hp " Brook motors LTD " will show some photo soon . is old but i think it look great my father is a electrician and craftsman himself , we tested it an it look ok . spend the whole evening cleaning it and also making a metal plate cover for the wiring part which got a missing cover .

still have not made up my mind on which inverter to buy .
thinking at .
  • OMRON 3G3MX
  • TOSHIBA VFDS11

when we got the Motor the Cover for the wiring is missing . so my father made a metal on for it . i guess this knife project will be a father and son project . as he is also very fond at handicraft . he is very good with Woodwork and so far had restore some amazing stuff :) and also making his version of the ancient GU QIN musical instrument used thousand of years ago . so far he made about 5 of it over 1 years . and usually take about 4 month each mostly hunting for wood and waiting for stuff to dry :P whahhahahhahaha . anyway here is a link to what is GU Qin if anyone interested .
