  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Gadget rabbit holes

I think they're both mid-level consumer brands. I have at least one product from each one and have no complaints. Sometimes I get brands mixed up, it's Bausch & Lomb that is a better brand.
Bushnell owned the B&L brand rights for binoculars in the 70's and they were made in Japan at that time, from what I've seen they were equal to Bushnell and Tasco's best offerings at that time but I don't know how they compared to the early American made B&L binoculars.
Bushnell bought Tasco around 20 years ago and I believe still owns them, both are definitely affordable consumer brands but It seems like Tasco has become the even more budget brand ( probably better than Simmonds though ) these days.

They were probably actually about the same in the 80's, but my Bushnell Ensign bino's were just a cheaper offering.
I'm sure they had some better stuff and Tasco some equally cheap stuff.
