Gah, these knives are a sickness

Amy, I actually wondered what you folks would think it meant or if you'd catch the reference. Almost felt compelled to explain when I asked... almost :)

For the record, this knife's color combination (Sage with black and tan G-10) is an absolute pill to photograph, I haven't been able to find the right combination of lighting to get it right yet. I'll try again tomorrow.

Congrats on a killer cool knife!
I really like the "Don't Panic"!!!

I would change your background to help your photo challenge...
that and lots and lots of light... daylight corrected if you can swing it.

More light? Ok, took another set with up to a combined 1000w.

Finally gave up and took one of my shop lights (500w halogen) and put it about 6" away.

The closeup is the closest to the color so far.

Ok, 2 500w shop lights, 2 6500k cfl's, 3 100w incandescent (reveal something) and every damned lamp in the room, tent removed and +2/3 AV.

I'm done for the night.

Previous compression algorithm was the crummy one.
If anyone wants the full res its here:
Here (4-megs, so if you're using dial-up you might want to go make a sandwich.)

Did the basics of the sheath. It's a cheap knockoff of the type of sheath i pulled off a pic on the forum. I love little projects like this, so I figured I'd try it. Tomorrow is sanding, finishing, dying, and polishing.

edited to add: first sheath I've ever made, first week working with leather.

Need more INFI so I can keep playing dress-up.

The color issue in your photos may be because of the different kinds of light you are using: Flourescent, Hallogen, and Incandescent each produce a different color output. All three at once will make it even trickier.

Try shooting with just your shop lights- a longer exposure and a higher ISO on your camera (a tripod, or a way to hold it still will be helpful).

Great looking knife! You're gonna love the BAD as well, I can't put mine down.
