Galls is selling spydie rip-offs

Whoops, there I go again, assuming. Thanks for correcting me, phantom4. I got suckered by S&W on their Darrel Ralph ripoff, so I guess I'm a little more sensitive to this now.

As mentioned in an above post, I too have seen Spydie knockoffs on sale at gas stations, at a car wash, and even at an auto parts store. I will admit from experience that before I ever bought a Spydie, years ago I bought one of the "Eagle" Delica ripoffs to see what a one-hander was like. Well, it "seemed" sharp but cut terribly and I never really could bring myself to carry it. Then I handled a real Delica, was amazed at the difference, and saved up accordingly.

So while there may be visual similarities, there is no comparison in cutting performance, overall quality, and pride of ownership of having the real thing.

Sal is always such a gentleman. This is laudable restraint on his part. The above quote is pretty telling in that light.

Those Eagle knives can make good trainers just grind off that poor excuse of a edge.
Everything does have a purpose i guess. I would not use them for anything else, that would require cutting.
