Greetings all,
For all those that have asked 'What's the best...,' in terms of heavy duty camp-type knives, for me at least, the question has been answered: the Nexus Spartaco by Molletta. You know him as a member here and for the likes of knives from LionSteel and others.
Per Mr. Molletta himself, the specs:
- Spartaco Was produced in 77 pieces:
-- Only 13 have blue handle g10
-- others have g11 green handle.
-- 10 have sculptured G11 handle.
-- G11 is a certified epossidic/glass fiber similar to G10 bat have some different performance like resistance to fire at temperature.
- 8 inch blade WP7v.. 57 hrc.
-- WP7v is a tool steel produced by Dorremberf Sthal in Germany. Is similar to chipper, infi.... Is not produced in sheet so was sawed block to
have sheet like Carthago.
Was the last Nexus project. After this the group is inactive.
It is quite simply, and AWESOME blade. Now to have a custom sheath made up for it, and put it to good use.
Couple Vids showing what these knives can do...yeah, I think its tough enough:thumbup::
Batoning: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uuxx6hlhHeA
Being pressed via vice through steel rod: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MVKLP45A_I
Chopping up a brick: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CRbOjphUdeM
Included a few photos, as well as one of its brother, the Nexus Centurione, a standout in its own right.
You may notice my new avatar.
Enjoy!
Cheers,
