I really don't think it takes much.... To date I've made probably 36 $3,000 knives! I just am yet to find a $3,000 buyer!

not long ago i sold my first 1k+ blade so i cant see how i could make anything close to 3k and have it sell easy
but i do have a plan

i do have some large project that i want to do in the next year or so so only time will tell for me

I'd say more than materials and a name, it takes a knife that someone sees and feels, then thinks "Wow, now that is a knife I would pay for."

It has to be well designed above all else. Then once the design is set pick materials and then make it. The fit and finish should be flawless, the balance should be perfect. It should reflect what $3k worth of materials and labor are worth.
