I've done some reading about how this works... but I was under the impression we would be told the prices in advance so we would know what we wanted to buy, and how many. There are one or two or more things I'm interested in... but price definitely plays a role. When are the prices usually announced?

They don't tell the noobs until 10 minutes prior to kickoff!;)

That way while your counting...:D

The Hogs are emailing:cool::thumbup:

thank goodness Jaxx always sends me my alert when he gets his early Hog notice:D

so I can play too:thumbup:

I would look for the prices and ordering instructions later on tonight/ or Wednesday sometime!

can someone post a sample order email???

i've read the ganza rules but everything is pretty vague in terms of the contents of the email you're supposed to send to jerry and garth....

- list the number and quantity of the model you want

- list second, third, fourth fifth, etc.... choices in case you don't get your first choice.....

i really don't know what to email, so can anyone just post the exact email they sent in from a previous ganza???

thanks....

Hiram, watch out for the false starts;)

Only telling ya because youre a fellow ARfcomer!

Hope your enjoying the Badger!

You should just send an email that says...

Boss,

Can I have any INFI scraps that may be left after the HOGS stampede the trough?

:p :D ;)

.

There is really one knife I want, the rest are interesting but wouldn't shed tears if I couldn't get one... I'm wondering if us ARFCOMMERS should coordinate our attacks, cover our flanks, and teach the trough a lesson!

I keed I keed... I joke I joke!

Cut and Paste from a Thread a few days back.....

Jerry Busse will periodically post an announcement of knives that will be sold online at the BladeForums Busse Combat sub-forum. He will announce prices, a time-range when the 'ganza will begin, and where to send an email order request. You compose an email providing contact information, requesting what you want (and in what quantities -- you should also list alternate selections in case what you want is already sold out, because there may only be one or two of some customs), then you wait. When the 'ganza time begins, you try to constantly refresh BladeForums and the Busse Combat Web site's forum, because at some point, Jerry will make a "GO, GO, GO" post. As soon as possible afterward, you send your email order request. Requests are filled in the order that they're received, but if you send before Jerry's post, your request goes to the back of the line.

Some imposters will create BladeForums accounts with names similar to Jerry Busse (like "Jerry 8usse") and try to fool people into sending early by posting false "GO, GO, GO" threads. I really don't like that game, but it's a tradition that's part of the culture, so you just have to be careful. Then you wait for a few days, at which time you'll receive an email notice of what you got and saying to contact Busse Combat to arrange payment, or they'll tell you sorry, nothing you requested was available.

Also, because of the large volume of traffic during a 'ganza, the BladeForums Web site will frequently become unresponsive -- you just keep refreshing and hope to get in to see when the post hits -- getting your order in early is an exercise in perseverance and luck.

me thinks the old timers aren't going to help the n00bs... we are going to have to learn the hard way... I mean, I understand it is tradition, but posing as Jerry to get people to submit orders prematurely to get them disqualified... come on. I'd use a jerk-it smilie to address that one if it wouldn't get me in hot water. But hey, its their tradition so it is what it is. We'll just have to try our best.

ETA thanks BK!

thanks a million......

It seems that people think Jerry is like the soup nazi from Seinfeld.... If you get the ordering format wrong then "No Knives For You"..

It gets easier with practice. Most of the Ganza instructions will tell you when and who to send your order(email) to and at what time.

As for what you order, they usually ask you to put:
1. how much you want to spend total
2. which model(s) you want and how many of each - include the page and number corresponding to the knife listed on the ganza page.
3. prioritize your selections just in case they sell out of certain models
I think that's pretty much it.

Me, I keep it simple because I can only afford like one blade...so my email is usually like:

"Hi Amy,

I would like to get just one knife.
1st choice - FFBM, page 3, number 14.
2nd choice - ASH1 gray mag, page 3, number 15
3rd choice - ASH1 black mag, page 3, number 16

Thanks,
Damond"

I heard he has the soup nazi hung from the wall of his office by a Battle Mistress through the collar of his chef's tunic!
