Ganza Question From The n00b

me thinks the old timers aren't going to help the n00bs...

sure they will. You just have to take a little to get a little around here:thumbup:

we are going to have to learn the hard way...

like everyone else.

Afterall, we are all equall opportunity Ball Breakers!
:D;)

I mean, I understand it is tradition, but posing as Jerry to get people to submit orders prematurely to get them disqualified... come on. I'd use a jerk-it smilie to address that one if it wouldn't get me in hot water. But hey, its their tradition so it is what it is.

You will find it keeps you on your toes and is one of the things I still enjoy the most. THat is still being a Noob myself; I hope I don't publicly humiliate myself either.

I don't believe its done to be mean, but more of a way to keep things fresh.

Its more about the hunt and keeping it fun.

We'll just have to try our best.

The field is fair.

Its all about who is prepared, willing, ready and able to make the best shot first.
;)

If you really want to score, you're going to need some Ganzaaaa panties.

.

I've done some reading about how this works... but I was under the impression we would be told the prices in advance so we would know what we wanted to buy, and how many. There are one or two or more things I'm interested in... but price definitely plays a role. When are the prices usually announced?

The price of any given knife starts at about $2,500 - so I wouldn't even bother with the Ganzaaaaaaaa! ;):p:D

oh shi ite!

thats funny!

glad I didnt get pounded by old school Hog for helping ;)

well atleast not yet:foot:

It gets easier with practice. Most of the Ganza instructions will tell you when and who to send your order(email) to and at what time.

As for what you order, they usually ask you to put:
1. how much you want to spend total
2. which model(s) you want and how many of each - include the page and number corresponding to the knife listed on the ganza page.
3. prioritize your selections just in case they sell out of certain models
I think that's pretty much it.

Me, I keep it simple because I can only afford like one blade...so my email is usually like:

"Hi Amy,

I would like to get just one knife.
1st choice - FFBM, page 3, number 14.
2nd choice - ASH1 gray mag, page 3, number 15
3rd choice - ASH1 black mag, page 3, number 16

Thanks,
Damond"

Don't forget your:
NAME & Forum NAME
ADDRESS
PHONE #
EMAIL

Don't expect Amy to be psychic! Tell her who you are, and how to get in touch with you should you be... LUCKY & PRIVILEGED enough to hear from her that you scored something, or...

NO SOUP FOR YOU!!!!

:D

The wait can get pretty long.

Lots of guys wear Depends.

Some pee in Gatorade bottles.

I just sit on a specially designed 5-gallon bucket.

Only n00bs take bathroom breaks.

On one particularly intense Ganzaaaa, Skunk actually installed a catheter on himself and managed to score as a result.

I just sit a chair in front of toilet to put my laptop on while I F5.
And I've had to take it a few times, but never seen the " Go Go Go" while I was go go going.

No kidden.

Kids these days.

'Ganzas aren't that hard. At first, I mostly lurked here for a while, while trying to absorb the ethos of this place. When I did jump in to my first 'Ganza, I was able to score, as have many other noobs.

Welcome to the craziness, and good luck.

btw, those might be my hoof prints on your back tomorrow night. :D

[... list as many line items as you want]

Second Choice:

[... list as many alternate choice blocks as you want, another strategy might be to simply note substitutions as text instructions, but I prefer explicit line items/prices for alternates; I think that should be easier to process]

Thanks,

This is good  Be sure to start typing it the moment the GO is posted  You don't want to be late and remember...TYPE FAST ;)

I get that composed long in advance, and just sit there, switching between forums and F5-ing for the "GO" post to send it.
