these chinese companies aren't the only ones to rip off other's designs. they do seem to get hit the hardest though? recently microtech did the exact same thing that srm, enlan, bee, and ganzo are slammed about, and rightfully so. funny not many, other than the kershaw/zt fans laid the same hammering down on microtech.

here is the link to that thread.....

just saying.....

From what I've heard, Ganzo is a little below Enlan and Sanrenmu in terms of quality. The other two also produce mainly original designs, although they do make use of the Axis lock. Personally, I'm fine with the original designs that have axis locks. They work pretty well, and I don't think they compete with Benchmade directly. As much as I like Benchmade, most of the companies out there have knocked off knives at some point, and they aren't an exception. Think of the Chinese axis locks as karma for Benchmade copying the Spyderhole and trying to sue as many other knife companies as they can into submission.

It's crazy how many exact and non exact copies come out of china they are some reverse engineers

is it true that benchmade gave them permission to use this lock as part
of an afreement to make some of there cheaper line knives?
or is this just another rumor?

Every description of such knives describes it as an Axis lock, including on their own websites. And that makes it A-OK in your mind, does it? Right is right, and wrong is wrong. There's things that men are legally allowed to do to women in certain countries that make the rest of the world sick, but that doesn't make it "OK". "Legal" doesn't mean "right", and just because someone can get away with something, that doesn't make it OK to do.

Regardless, even if it's "legal" for companies like SRM/Enlan/Bee/Ganzo to steal patents and trademarks for "domestic sale", that's clearly not their intention or action, as they're obviously selling wholesale to other markets, including the one (USA) that you say would be illegal to do so.

People like you can and will tell yourself whatever you can to justify this kind of thievery just so you can get what you think is a "good deal" on a knife, but those of us who aren't treading water in moral quicksand know better and will oppose the unethical and ultimately destructive thievery that those companies practice.

It's just business.
American companies rip off each other All The Time AND they rip us the consumer off for as long as they can get away with it. We now live in a global economy and whether you like it or not China dominates and their economy will continue to grow because there is the demand. Thievery is when Benchmade charges $125.00 or more for a knife that cost them $5.00 or $10.00 to produce. That too unfortunately is the American way. But man.... you need to take a chill pill.

If this had been an old thread talking about how fine Jessica Biel looks in her little white tank top in the "Chainsaw" remake, sure, a bump could work.... but a 2 year old thread necro bump to defend the unethical, un-licensed use of a proprietary knife lock system for sale in the USA, where it is illegal? Looks like you are shopping Ganzo and trying to convince yourself it's cool. It is not cool. Theft is taking something which does not belong to you, not offering an honest product for sale at a price point which cheapskates disapprove of.

Please do feel free to bump this again in two years and agree about that tank top.

Jazub sums it up pretty well. Your indifference cancels out Planterz passion. Game, Set, Match. Counterfeits are still garbage, doesn't matter how you try to frame it and it doesn't make it any less wrong.
