These guys are copying Benchmade's designs, when is enough enough? Can't Benchmade do something about this? Check this out.

This is even under the description on auctions:

(To avoid problem, we can't show the whole picture here. but you will receive the whole knife with sheath in paper box)

This is crazy!

Ganzo, Navy, Bee and SRM produce similar looking models of almost every knife brand on this planet. I believe they are made by the same company and mkt under different brands. From what I know, there is little that BM or Spyderco (or any reputed knife manu) can do, especially across countries...

Those are Copies, not Counterfeits.

Difference is they don't put the BM Logo on there to try to fool folks into buying a fake,
or sell them in BM boxes w/paperwork to dupe the less knowledgeable.

Legally it's a big difference...

The BM Infidel (among others) has already been counterfeited. Pic of the SE version below. It's made in China and sells for <$40...

Legally they know they're walking on thin ice, hence hiding half of the knife in photos on eBay. Copies or counterfeits, they're nearly identical. So close that I've seen youtube videos of people who bought them instead of the real Benchmade because of the price difference.

Either way, it wouldn't take much for someone to remove their logo and copy a etch a Benchmade logo.

Looking around the Asian sites, those knives pictured above are selling for less than $20 shipped. Axis lock and all...

As long as folks give them a market here, those things will swamp our domestic manufacturers w/o effective protective measures enacted.

Please be aware that Bladeforums is not impressed by the exact status of a ripped-off design. They are all unwelcome here. See our Exchange rules: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/announcement.php?f=699&a=98

SECTION 6 - Miscellaneous

Fakes/Homages:
As fakes and homage items are a legal gray area and obviously hurt the hobby, no fake or homage items may be sold on the Exchange. Members may not knowingly sell unlicensed knockoffs or counterfeit versions of knives (or any other goods) based upon the designs of their legitimate owner, manufacturer or custom maker. Additionally, members may not sell any knife or item known or suspected to be other than as described in terms of its lineage and authenticity.

if you can produce a poor quality knife, i dont see the need for produceing a carbon copy of a high quality knife from a company most regular people havent heard of... its like if i tried to sell knock-off chris reeve to peope, but had to explain who he was. they might as well just make fantasy knives for budk, and appeal to a broader market. i never understand why people cant at least make original garbage.

blatent obvious copies suck and is not cool. thaat being said unless things go crazy ideas espicallygood ones will always be copied to some degree. cars for example they are constantly taking each others ideas and putting them to use. and just like with this ganzo company, no name probably not the best, hopefully going out of business, kind of like the Bricklan

Its a shame ganzo, srm, navy, bee/enlan, etc. don't come up with their own designs across the board. Id like to see some traditional chinese knife designs brought into creation with modern materials. That interests me more than copies.

The "bazaar-benza" has been around awhile...

Bad LINK above. Good thing actually.

No need to promote Asian websites selling counterfeit American made knives.

Like the one below. Mystery steel, questionable quality. Junk really. But retails for less than $50...

Thanks GZB for the fix!

The particular version I was linking to can be found by Googling "F32 Sebenza"....

Your source has been banned from Bladeforums as a foul-mouthed liar. He has no credibility here.

Don't forget to mention his personal motivations to harm Benchmade as he has been sued on multiple occasions by Benchmade for patent violations and other unethical & illegal behavior. -None of which he has won.
