Does it hurt the function of a knife to have a gap between the liner and backspring? I have A couple of knives that have gaps between the backspring and liner but they don't have any blade wobble so I didn't know if the gaps would hurt anything or not. Thanks

I would think if the blade tang was slightly thicker than the backspring, you would see a gap even if it was nice and tight.

to answer your question, no. it doesnt hurt anything, just annoying and unappealing to some...if you dont care about it cosmetically, then leave it be, if you cant stand it, contact the company so they can fix it
