Picked up two axes, and a hatchet today. First axe is stamped Walters, also stamped NPC. The stamp seems to be machine engraved. Second axe stamped GT, and 31/2. Hatchet is stamped Super Brand. Thanks in advance for any info.

We'll need pictures.
You will have to use an image hosting site to do so.

Walter's was a Canadian manufacturer with a good reputation, so it's probably a decent axe if it's not worn out.

The 2nd axe, is it possible the stamp originally said GTW ?

For the hatchet, are you sure it says " Super brand " and not Super Banko ?
Is there evidence of it having originally been painted blue?

I had to remove a thick layer of red paint from the Walters axe to read Walter, and NPC. My opinion is that this axe was meant for firefighting use, and NPC denotes National Parks Canada. No blue paint on the hatchet, stamp is Super Brand. Other axe is stamped GT.
