Garage Sale Gold

Those are some true beauties to be sure robbobus..I am going to try a few flea markets soon myself.

Rob ...what a little beaut, I know that Mick ( Wellington ) would like to see this on his thread, I cant believe just how tidy that knife is!, be real neat to find out just what era that came from?
Nice find!( dang you :grumpy: :D )

Like Mike, I have no access to garage sales or similar, they're pretty uncommon here. It could be easier to get into someone's garage (meaning someone you know), finding something thrown on the floor, asking for it, and being gifted. A friend of mine got an old motorcycle this way, and after he restored it, it became a beauty. Harder to find knives anyway.
Someday I'd like to take a shot at a garage sale and see what happens...I was never lucky with this kind of thing, but who knows? your finds are pretty good for sure :)

Thanks Fausto. It was my first time looking for knives at garage sales. I guess it was beginners luck or something else. It has inoculated me with the pickers bug. I can't wait to do it again. I guess there really is something to Wayne Dyers assertion about the power of intention. May that field of harmony of the all creating Source manifest itself within you:D

Great finds! That Pearl that Rob found is stunning.

I will occasionally go with my wife on a Saturday morning. One time I stumbled across a woman selling an entire Case collection, all recent though. She was asking $35 for each and any knife. I didn't have the cash, but if I had a $100 bill, I'm sure I could have talked her into 4 for $100. I should have at least taken a picture, but there were all the current offerings in many different colors and handle materials. No Bose designs, though.

Anyway, my top (only!) find was a Bear MGC tanto Bali with damascus blade for $5, in New condition. He had it marked for $8.

That razor is a real find. I can't tell from the picture - what is the handle material?

Garage sales around here don't have knives. Except for one time - my wife came back to the house and said she had been at a garage sale where they had a whole box of knives. The problem was she only remembered what block it was on, not which house, and even though I went right over, they had already closed up and gone in for the day.

I'm not quite sure..it looks like ivory but its probably some type of plastic, although it does have a bone type micro structure under magnification? I will see if I can get a better macro picture of it and post it.

The more I look at the handles the more I think they are bone
