Gareth bull large shamwari 3.5" framelock: Silver Twirl scales & M390 satin blade , 4mm titanium frame on lockside and titanium liner and scale on non lockside.
My price is SOLD TYD. CONUS, NO TRADES...NO LOWBALLS....to be sold AS IS...no refunds; no returns...
This framelock model is pretty close to impossible to find ANYWHERE for sale, and those who have ordered one have found that the waiting period is "intense."
First "I'll take it" followed by immediate confirming email or PM to me.
PP Goods full payment is expected right away or I go to next person. My feedback is very high and all positive. This sale is final...no returns. The item has not been misrepresented.
My feedback is about 200 at 100% positive.
The blade is 0.118" spine thickness, M390, and the grip width is quite thin at 0.460"...nearly identical in grip width to a large CRK Sebenza. Blade-length is 3.45"; closed grip length is 4.55" for a total open length of eight inches.
The knife has slept in my safe since I bought it. It is a "front-flipper" as you know, and it takes about two motions to open the blade, rather than a standard "flip." The action is excellent with solid lockup and blade centering...about 30% lockbar onto the blade tang.
The (two-tone) blade is beautiful; a highly-polished spine with a slightly muted polished blade , gorgeous, and very sharp from the maker. In pic #2, the blade is actually more highly polished than the pic shows, but the intensity of the blue pivot mechanism is quite accurate with reality.
The knife came new to me, from South Africa, with a dark spot in the middle of the silver twirl scale. Removing that spot resulted in a slight dulling of the central portion of the scale... The "dulling" of the central portion of the scale can be seen in a few of the pics...particularly in the pic with the pivot tool. Notice that there are also a few very minor "handling" marks on the titanium scale...which came to me, as new, in that manner.
A new replacement "perfect" silver twill scale can be ordered from Gareth Bull for $75. I have ALREADY reduced my asking price to reflect the dulling of the silver twill scale. The information above, and the pics, permit the reader a FULL and accurate description, to the best of my ability.
The knife comes with a brand new stainless pivot tool...as pictured...never used.
Here are multiple pics of that knife as it is now. I have never carried it, not even around the house, and have only photographed it, and cleaned the scale. I do not think I ever used it even to cut a sheet of paper, although it is darned sharp.
I have nothing but sheer admiration for this Gareth Bull model, but because of the front flipper, I'll never carry it. It is, by good measure, the nicest and best-built folder that I have ever owned, although some have been much higher in initial price.
If you have a further interest in purchasing this knife (no trades or offers, thanks), please let me know. I am including pics, as well as the complete library photo file...
