Garmin GPS users: free maps!!!!!!

One of the other sites I visit caters to a certain brand of 4 wheel drive vehicles. A lot of the guys are running some sort of Garmin unit in their rigs. They have been getting maps from here:
www.gpsfiledepot.com/maps

They are created by private individuals and are free. Download them and you can load them up in your GPS via the Mapsource software you probably already have. You can donate money if you like what you get, but you don't have to. The TOPOs I downloaded into my Etrex are way more detailed than the ones I paid almost a hundred bucks for. :thumbup:

Why are they .exe files. That's an installer file right? I would've thought it'd have been a different file type.

I feel ya. Some of the other 4X4 guys have been using them about six months will no problems. I see you did some research on you own.
