So has anyone seen this site? They sure do have some nice stuff. Mostly woodworking but some pretty cool toys too.

Hey Livitloud,

Garrett Wade used to be a huge seller of fine woodworking tools back in the early to mid 1980's. Since the onslaught of the internet, they've taken a backseat (waaay back) to other retailers mostly due to the price of their goods. If you get one of their catalogs, you'll see that use high-quality paper and beautiful photographs, and they carry some items that are hard to find elsewhere. All in all though, they're waaay too expensive to deal with. You can find most of their stuff elsewhere for considerably less.

I say this as someone who has purchased over $600 from them in the eighties... but no more. I still like to browse their catalog though.
 
Stretch I ordered a catalog. Can't wait to thumb through it. They do have some pretty cool stuff.
 
I scrolled back up and took a second look at those knives. Wow. I'm looking for my GW catalog now to ogle those things some more!

By the way, I notice you're from GB country. I grew up in Ft. Hood not far from there. Two years ago, we drove through GB country and swam in the creek just east of town. Never before even knew it was there. What beautiful little park! (still have some cool pictures of the waterfall and cliffs that kids were jumping from)
 
If you're ever near Crawford, take the highway east out of town (towards Temple and the Interstate). Just about a mile or so there is a neat little park on the north side of the highway... it's not well marked and it isn't some tourist attraction... it's just pretty doggone cool. We went there again last year during June and the creek level was low, so if you go, pick a time when you know the creeks and rivers are running well in that part of the state.

I have ordered a few things from Garrett Wade. The products were top quality & fast shipping. Nice Company to deal with IMO.
