Garth and Jerry... You guys ROCK (A Warranty Thread)

For anyone with any doubts about Busse Combat, or their warranty, allow me to tell you a story.

I bought a TGLB, and promptly proceeded to mangle it beyond belief. I thinned the edge out so much that a quarter inch of the tip broke off. This was ENTIRELY my fault. In no way was the blade to blame. I made the edge so thin that it took almost no effort to break it.

I called Jerry, and he told me to send it in. I wasn't expecting much. I asked them if they could repair it, and Jerry said they'd do what they could and passed it over to Garth.

I got my knife back today. They didn't charge me a dime. Below are the pics of my knife.

It should be noted that when i sent it out to them, the finish was all beat up as i'd been using it pretty hard

I can't tell you if they repaired my knife or sent me a new one, but this blade is PERFECT. The coating has been replaced, the scales are new, the edge is shaving sharp (thanks Beef)... Busse Combat has the best warranty in this business. I broke it, due to my modifications, by doing something overwhelmingly stupid, and they took care of it.

You Guys Are AMAZING!

By looking at it I'd be very surprised if that was the same knife. That's awesome!

I don't have any experience with their warranty service because I've never had any warranty issues.

They do in fact rule :)

I'm thinking that they did in fact repair your knife by the pics, looks a little more stubby than stabby if you ask me......;)

You could probably sell it as a one of a kind TGLB now.....:D

Sweet it's nice to hear someone not complaining for once about good service, many people have the world handed to them and still find something to complain about, they know who they are... A great job by a great company!

Thats awesome, Lets see a pic with its new big brother together with sheaths.

I dont think I´ll ever use the warranty, but that makes me feel, I am in the right place.

Congratulations to you "BePrepared"....(that TG still looks awsome), and congratulations to The Crew... awsome service...

I have never felt this good about getting my knives from a particular manufacturer, I just wish I could order more production models from the custom shop, but that´s probably part of the charm of Busse.

Good to hear! I knew Busse and the 'kin were the right place to spend my cash on fixed blades and stories like this just reaffirm it. Before you modded it how was the TGLB holding up to the heavy use?

I beat it like a wire haired terrier with mange and bad bladder control, and it just asked for more.

I used it on 5 camping trips, and batoned through more logs than i could count. It was great. I decided that i wanted to turn it into a razor blade and ended up with an edge that was less than 20 degrees inclusive at the tip. No steel can handle that and survive what i did

Awesome stuff, glad they fixed it up for you!

But couldn't they do something about those awful blue handles? :barf:

:p :p :p

That is why I keep buying Busse knives. Incidentally BePrepared, those sweet pics of your blue/black G10 TGLB has pushed me over the edge. I will be ordering my second TGLB in blue G10 and the comp finish.

Good call! That blue/black is a really sharp looking combo; if I manage to pick up another Busse this year it's going to have to be in blue/blck G10.

Black and tan is for the classy ones amongst us.

Wow, I'm glad things worked out well. It's really encouraging as a Busse owner, to hear that the company takes such good care of their customers:thumbup:
