Garth You Killed it

I think Porkerson had either a Mistress or Heart that had an elongated swedge...

Very cool man...

I don't think there were any SH's made with that swedge.
There was a few of these going around. I remember these. I also attempted to have a buddy of mine who was with 10th mnt at the time track one down. He was a gear queer. But no luck, could never track them down.

I have long wondered why all those knives made over the years for various Mil/LE units have never surfaced on the resale market. Where did they all go????

here are pics of the new ones:

Like Cobalt, tried to track a few down. Not much luck -- although I have heard convincing anecdotes. They're out there, somewhere.

Well, I have experienced this limited mil/gov run myself. Some officer gear queer wants a run of busses, or whatever brand he likes, for him and his buddies. He puts in a po request for a run of "entry tools" for xxxx Division. PO approved, purchase made, knives shipped to purchaser. He divies it up to his upper echelon buddies and not one of those knives ever make it to the ones who could use it the most. Not saying it happens every time, but it has happened.

Yes, have definitely heard of that. Pretty sad.

A few of my Busses have made it to the sandbox in the hands of friends ... or youngsters I felt strongly about. So I know some were put to very good use.

gr8 taste cobalt, excellent job garth, love the older ones, hogs and knives, love to hear jerry tell about knives he made when he started!! yet another reason why blade is so much fun along with the refreshing beverages!!

This forum, the Busse crew, and David Brown all pitched in on a donated Choil-less Satin Jack (with BB sheath) for my cousin. He deployed twice with it, and wore it on his vest. He was 50 Cal gunner on convoys.

It came back very well used, and banged up.

He brought it to me to put a new edge on it after his deployments.

It's always cool to see them used in the real world. Because, my back yard, and camping are pretty mundane.

Wow. The 10th mountain division carries that?

What do they do? Are they a mountain regiment or is it just their name?

Think of when the original SHBM run was done. We are talking 1999 to 2000 ish time frame. This is not current.

There's something wrong with the one in the middle. It should definitely be sent to me for disposal. ;) :D

Beautiful set of Mistresses you've got there.

Thanks. Notice the SMOOTH BOLTS? Not often you see that these days. ;)

Of course I noticed. I love swedged and solid bolt Mistresses.
