Gas Solenoids ?

Oh I forgot to ask, Are there any tricks regarding residual heat rise after the forge is shut down re the blower being above the gas inlet (propane) and thus above the forge? Most of the guys seem to have to leave their blowers on for quite awhile, while the forge cools off, to blow the heat away from the fan to prevent its getting damaged.

That is a large part of the two feet of pipe's function.
Heat conduction should be checked on your forge after it has run for a while, to make sure the burner arm and air manifold aren't getting too hot. With a properly placed burner flare, and a properly insulated forge, it should not be a problem.
