i ordered some scales like these,only for one of my southard's,about two months ago and they never came in,any one no what happened to don!!i have sent him a bunch of e-mails and i get no reply,just wondering whats going on with him!and if he's still making scales!or not,i ordered though his wix sight as its still taking orders,any one have info!thanks guys.[URL=http://s656.photobucket.com/user/drdmsmith/media/GatorScales/2009-06-28234413.jpg.html][/URL]
 
About five months ago, I received a CF scale from him for my ZT 0550. Wonderful work.

Then we started talking about him making me a G10 scale and he stopped communication after a couple of emails. To be fair, he asked me not to send money in advance.

I tried sending him a few emails back then, especially expressing my hopes that everything was alright with him, but I had no replies.
 
Don is a great guy and a great scale maker. He does have a full time day job though so he makes scales at night and on weekends. He gets backed up and makes scales rather than answer emails, give him some time. Send him a PM through the forums, might help.
 
yes his scales turn out wonderful,as he made my 1st carbon fiber scale for my 1st brad southard about 1 1/2 years ago,this is why i had ordered a 2nd one only in carbon fiber twill! but its taking so long to get hear!and the fact there's no commutation on his part!really isn't helping,any one no his name hear on the forum!!and i'll try to contact him that way,thanks.
 
I am having the same problem. It's been a few weeks since I ordered mine. I don't mind waiting, but I haven't gotten a single responce from him. He has my money, but I have know idea if I will ever get anything.
 
If it has been just under a month since I ordered something, and I haven't heard anything from him, should I be worried.

In my communications with him, he didn't strike me as dishonest. He just simply stopped replying so I wonder if there's some serious health issue that's keeping him from the computer.

I'd try to get my money back and wait until he replies to any emails.

Same problem here. Ordered a scale, waited, emailed 3 times...nothing. It's currently with the PayPal resolution center. There's only one reasonable excuse and it's not that he's busy working on scales. We're all busy and he's wasting a lot of my time and I can see now that he's wasting other people's time. The reasonable excuse would be extreme illness or death.
