my gateway knife into my blade fixation was the kershaw oso sweet. Its my go to knife as a gift for newbies too the cutting tool world. My lady got into blades through the oso, and bought one for my coworker who has never owned one and gave it to him Monday, and he's been asking daily about knives since....

Its just an oh so sweet knife! ;)
 
A lot of great input here everyone. It's also great to see what some of your gateway knives were, even if they weren't the traditional route into the brand.

My first knife I ever bought was a Emerson Super CQC-7 because I love the Rogue warrior series and that is what Richard Marcinko used. Then I got a Strider and into the custom market.
