Who else wishes they owned stock in the companies that make this stuff? Having just laid open my hand once again while doing something really stupid with my knife and having to put myself together again with butterfly dressings, I stopped to think about all the miles of tape and gauze I've had to go through just because of the damn hobby. (The hobby is owning knives, not cutting myself... :p )

I was sitting in the middle of the kitchen floor making a toy for the cat, cutting away excess vinyl so I can rivet the sheet into a tunnel and saying to my wife, "gee this is really a dumb way to cut something..." Blammo!

It's a good thing I keep them sharp. At least it doesn't hurt so much and the edges of the wound aren't jagged. How many times does one have to repeat the same mistake before learning that we do NOT learn from our mistakes!! :(

Too bad. take care, please.

In my case, after cutting myself I sometimes notice that
how careless I was. Repeating this kind of experience led
me to recognize how careless I am just the moment I'm doing
something I have to be careful, which is very useful
when riding bikes or using knives.

Hey stitchawl thats why we are men lol... Ask any woman and she would tell you. Men are not on the bright side lol. We never learn the first dozen times. We also tend to know what would happen right before it does and still do it... Yes im as guilty as charged. Carry some Neosporin and duct tape always works for me.

Oh yeah, if my fiance TELLS me that it won't work, or I'm going to cut myself, I almost instinctively HAVE TO PROVE HER WRONG.

She always wins...:grumpy:

Don't they always... Bummer.... But then, that's why we love 'em. Now if we could just stop them from gloating! :(

On the plus side, they do learn first aid very quickly. My wife had me bandaged up before the blood dried on the kitchen floor. I just don't understand why I she made me take off all my clothes.... sloooooowly... for a cut finger. :D

At least she didn't try to practice her stitching. LOL!

I am pretty accident prone so I feel you on the cuts. I would be a millionaire with all the band aids and superglue I have bought..... but the I told you so is the worst from the G\F

While were on the topic, where can you get little travel size packages of antibiotic ointment like polysporin? I can only find the big home sized tubes.

Go buy yourself a small first aid kit from Wal-Mart, CVS, walgreens, whatever and it will have little individual packages inside...I actually prefer to just carry New Skin instead of all that and some gauze. Wipe the wound and then apply New skin and you're good to go...

Welcome to the Darwin club. I'm still waiting for the tip of my left thumb to grow back.......Of course that didn't stop me from doing a chopping photo shoot the next day though :)

Is it me or most of us on here seem to get into trouble more then normal people lol.... Maybe thats why we are on a survival forum. To save ourselfs lol hey its just an observation *L* ..
